It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the age of 69 years. Son of the late Walter Prechotko (Kalisz, Poland) and Jeanne (Doberstyn) Prechotko (Laon, France). Beloved husband of 47 years to Carol (Sandberg) Prechotko. Loving father of Christopher (Brianne), Lisa and Sean (Kelsey). Cherished grandfather of Isaac and Maeve. Survived by his sister Danielle McDonald (Arden).
Walter was a career firefighter with the Greater Sudbury Fire Services.He retired in 2011 as Platoon Chief after 36 years of service. In retirement he kept busy with road trips, ocean cruises, snowboarding, attending concerts, and puttering around the yard feeding chipmunks, blue jays, squirrels, ducks and whatever other bird or critter that showed up at the feeders.
In keeping with Walter’s wishes there will be no visitation. A burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque or online to the Alzheimer Society. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
