In loving memory of Jean-Guy “Chummy” Quesnel, 79 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 at Health Sciences North, with his family by his side.

He is the beloved husband for 59 years to Betty Quesnel of Levack. Loving father of Mark (Melanie) of Levack, Jennifer (Paul Day) of Sudbury, and David (Kelly Erickson) of Kingsville. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Quesnel and Tristian Day. Missed by brother, Michel, of Sturgeon Falls and niece Melissa. Predeceased by parents Emile and Idese Quesnel. A genuine friend of B.W for over of 45 years, and the many other friends whose lives he touched.

Former Mayor of Onaping Falls, who was a passionate advocate for his community. He loved the outdoors especially his camp on Otter /Ministic Lake with his loyal canine friends Tacoma and Tundra. Enjoyed volunteering his time to Ginny’s Road and the fishpond. Chummy was a passionate sports fan, always routing for his Canadiens, Packers and Blue Jays. Never one to turn down a game of euchre.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Levack, on Monday, July 15th, 2024 at 11am. Following mass, the burial of ashes will be in the Maplecrest Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion 503, Onaping, from 1-4pm.
