RIOUX, Sister Louise (Sister M Bernadette) - It is with sadness that The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie announce the death of Sister Louise Rioux. Predeceased by her parents, Onesime Rioux and Emma (Berube) and her siblings Benoit, Gilles, Roger, Georgette, Lillian, Gabrielle, Simonne, and Jeannette. Sister Louise is survived by her sister Madeleine and her brother George and many nieces and nephews. Sister Louise was born in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec on January 17, 1920. Sister entered The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie on September 7, 1937 as one of the founding members of the congregation and ministered in food services and pastoral care in North Bay, Blind River, Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Sudbury, and Little Current. Sister Louise will be remembered as a woman of deep faith and prayer who celebrated life with joy and gratitude. One of the hallmarks of Sister Louise was her gracious hospitality and reverence for all of creation. The body of Sister Louise will be received at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 6, in the Holy Family Chapel, St. Joseph's Motherhouse. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, in Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Joseph's Motherhouse, North Bay, Ontario.
