With deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Radivoj (Ron) Rodic on May 10, 2022, at Extendicare Falconbridge. A long-time employee of Falconbridge Nickel Mine, Radivoj was born on July 20, 1940, in Vrginmost, Croatia (former Jugoslavia). Radivoj met and married Katica (nee Milosevic) in Karlovac Croatia. They emigrated to Canada in July 1970 with daughters Biserka (Sakovic) and Radmila (Duncan), later having a son, Miodrag Rodic. The family settled in the Donovan area of Sudbury, where he enjoyed the remainder of his days. A member of the Serbian Orthodox community, Radivoj enjoyed fishing the Wahnapitae river and working in his large vegetable garden. He will be remembered as a witty character with a wry sense of humour. He is survived by his 3 beautiful children, Biserka (Zarko), Radmila (Keith), Miodrag (Eliza); seven grandchildren, Robert, Christopher, Kasandra, Thomas, Stefanie, Huntar-Shana, and Brooklyn; his sister, Milica Galogaza and many nieces, nephews and Kumove. Predeceased by his parents Dragan and Anka Rodic (nee Tepsic) and brothers Milorad (Pepa), Duro (Milka) and Milivoj (Vera). Fondly remembered by longtime companion Vesna Kotaras and daughter Nena Susic. The family would like to express thanks to the hardworking and caring staff at extended care Falconbridge. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. (Friends may call 6-8pm Friday with parish prayers at 7pm Friday).
