Romanet, Giovanni

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Giovanni Romanet on January 19, 2020, at the Georgetown Hospital, at the age of 90. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years Anita Romanet (née Mucignat) of Sudbury and parents Elisa and Emilio of Pordenone, Italy. Beloved father of Robert (Debby) of Acton, Albert (Jane) of Milton, and Dennis (Chloe) of Georgetown. Greatly loved and very proud Nonno of Jaclyn (Trevor), Philip, Sarah (Kyle), Andrew, Cameron and Natalie, and beloved greatgrandfather of Austin (“my nonno”). Cherished brother of Virginia Gislon (Riccardo) of Sudbury, both predeceased, and Santina Viotti (Mario, predeceased) of Italy. Greatly missed by sisterin-law Bruna Venerus (Alvino) of Maple, Elena Mucignat (Aldo, predeceased) of Italy and many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Italy. Special thanks to all of the staff at Amica Georgetown for their ongoing help and support. Friends were received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, (905)877- 3631 on Wednesday from 6-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at the Jones Funeral Home on Thursday January 23rd at 11:00 am. Interment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Georgetown.
