1966-2022

It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Tim at age 56, surrounded by family on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury after a short but immensely courageous battle with cancer.

Son of Sharon (née Zinck) Ross and of the late John Ross. Sadly missed by his soulmate and love of his life Sylvie (née Ouellette). Cherished father of Alexandra (Rodin) Schimper, and Joseph Ross. Stepfather to Eric and Michel (Ashton) Audette. Proud grandfather of Freyja Shimper. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters Pam (Dean) Glibbery and Lora Probert, niece Angeleah Ross and nephew Michael Probert.

Growing up in Halifax/Prospect Bay, Tim had an unparallel zest for life and adventure, always trying to be the best at whatever challenge he took on. Acquiring a pilot’s license, scuba diving instructor certification, second degree black belt, playing guitar and loving to cook, to name just a few. However, his most distinguished accomplishment was his 28-year career as a police officer in Sudbury retiring as Sergeant. He was an avid reader and researcher of any and all topics. He could and would debate anything with anyone who would take him on. He never missed an opportunity to pull a prank on you and his sense of humour was immeasurable. No one loved to laugh with (and at) people more than Tim. He had very high standards on how he presented himself with perfectly pressed shirts and not a hair out of place. Everyone knew touching his hair was a no no. Whether you needed help with something, or just wanted to chat, Tim was your guy. He loved the sun and sandy beaches and the years he spent in Florida with Sylvie after his retirement, making good friends and memories were his happiest.

Always so strong, even through his illness, he put family and friends first making sure they were going to be okay.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 6 South at HSN for their care and compassion.  A celebration of life will be on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 2-6 p.m. at the Northbury Hotel and Conference Centre, 50 Brady Street Sudbury.  Interment will be in Halifax at a later date.
