Giulia Maria Rupoli (nee Carloncini)

It is with great sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of Giulia on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Extendicare York, Sudbury at the age of 97.Beloved wife of EgidioRupoli predeceased 1982. Loving mother of Ermes and Bruno (Cathy). Cherished Nona of Maria, Elisa (Ian), David predeceased, Michael (Danika), Matthew (Kirsten), Megan (Liam) and great grandchildren Anthony, Vincent and Abby. Dear daughter of Nazzereno and Albina (Valentini) Carloncini both predeceased. Dear sister of Diulio, Alfredo, Egidio, Settemio and Elisa all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Giulia was born in Fano, Italy and came to Canada in 1953 with a travel purse in one arm and her 20 month old baby in the other, she joined her husband Egidio. Together they first settled in Little Italy, Copper Cliff and then calling Gatchell home. She will always be remembered for her wonderful meals, homemade pastas and pastries sprinkled with icing sugar at Christmas time. Throughout her years she loved being in her garden, playing Italian cards with her friends and most of all she loved the time spent with her family. Giulia will be fondly remembered and her spirit will forever live in our hearts. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the 6th floor at Extendicare York for the care and compassion that Giulia received throughout her stay. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Elgin Street Mission or the Sudbury Food Bank would be appreciated.
