SÉGUIN, Alphège Gérald

May 6, 1929 to January 30, 2021

In loving memory of Alphège“Alphie” Séguin 91 years, peacefully at Maison McCulloch Hospice.  Alphège is survived by his wife Alice (née Guérin) of 64 years, children Diane (Oza Pilon), Ronald (Pat Hébert), Réjean (Gail Smith), and Barbara (Ben Scagnetti). Big brother to Lucippe (Yolande), Cléo (Colette), Gilles, Gérald (Monique), Isabelle (Gilles Bergeron), Muriel (Ronald Pilon), and Lorraine (Guy Rochon).  He is predeceased by his parents Delphis and Sylviane (née Kingsbury) Séguin, brother Roger (Léola), and sister Alice (late Marcel Carrière).  He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Julie (Trevor), Alain (Julie), Michel, Ryan and Erik, great-grandchildren Cory, Joey, Mathieu, Elisabelle, Chanelle and Brielle. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Alphège retired from Inco and returned to his hometown of Noëlville where he had purchased land.  He was fortunate to spend his retired life following his passions – fishing, hunting, snowmobiling with family and friends.  He would often say he felt at peace when in the bush –whether trapping, cutting wood, or grooming snowmobile trails. In his later years he enjoyed going to Tim Hortons with Cléo and Colette and especially happy when siblings and others would join in.

A special thank you to Doctors, Nurses, PSWs, and staff at City of Lakes Family Health Team, Meadowbrook Retirement, Bayshore, HSN and Maison McCulloch Hospice. We are forever grateful for the care and compassion given to Dad.  Also thank you to friends and family for support. Due to the pandemic, there will be a scheduled visitation at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Masks are mandatory. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
