In Loving Memory of Christine Spencer (nee D’Arcy) 63 yrs Passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family on Wednesday morning, November 2nd, 2016 at the Maison Vale Hospice. Beloved wife of 40 years of Jim Spencer of Sudbury. Loving mother of Sean (Brittney) of Sudbury, Sarah McDermott (Craig) of Toronto and Shannon McLaren (Damian) of Ottawa. Adoring grandmother of Owen. Cherished daughter of Dennis (predeceased 2004) and Audrey D’Arcy of Sudbury and sister and best friend of Muriel D’Arcy and Colleen D’Arcy (Keevin McCormick) both of Sudbury and David predeceased 1981. Dear sister in law of Mary Lou (predeceased) and Mike Lawson, Lynne and Dave Taylor, Carol and Mike O’Kane, Sheila and Ted Coe, Larry and Sally Spencer, Barb and Dave Campbell and Jim Read of Ottawa. Predeceased by her in laws George and Marg Spencer. She is dearly missed by many nephews and nieces. She was an avid traveller with Jim and while abroad she volunteered with many schools and orphanages in India, China, Bangladesh and Tanzania. Christine was a dedicated Registered Nurse who worked in many fields of health care but dearly loved her time working in palliative care at the Maison Vale Hospice where her empathy and love for her patients was most evident. An Honour Guard of Nurses will take place at the funeral mass, the family invites those who have worked with Christine to please take part. A special thank you Dr’s Cano, Tenhunen, Singh, Slaney and all health care professionals in Sudbury and Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto for the excellent care given to Christine throughout this journey. Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may call from 4-8pm Friday Memorial Mass at Our Lady Of Hope 591 Brennan Rd., Sudbury Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at 1:30pm Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
