SUNDAY, Joseph Alvin “Al“ - In Loving Memory of Sir Knight Joseph Alvin “Al“ Sunday 95 years Saturday, September 17th, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. Beloved husband of Vina Marie (Brunette) Sunday predeceased January 2010. Loving father of Lorraine (Lori) of Collingwood, Lawrence predeceased August 2010 (Rochelle of Brampton) and Loretta (Reginald Legault) of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of April (Eric), Amy (James), Amanda, Sabrina, Devon and great grandchild Joshua. Dear son of Dominic and Loretta (Tomasi) Sunday both predeceased. Dear brother of Kay Leonard of Welland, predeceased by Tony, Cosmo, Mary, Flora and Jimmy. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Larchwood, he married Vina in Sudbury in 1941. Al was an accountant with Sudbury Wholesale Grocers for 45 years, retiring in 1980. He was a devout Roman Catholic, active at Christ the King Church for 89 years, serving as Minister of Eucharist, Usher, the Men's Club and a faithful attendee of daily Mass. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Scollard Assembly and the Dante Alighieri Society. He and Vina brought Communion to the Sudbury General Hospital for 25 years. Al lived his faith everyday. He loved music and was a member of the Sudbury's First Band, under the direction of Mr. Bell. Al loved his God and dedicated his life to his family. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME 233 Larch St., Sudbury Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church Saturday, September 24th, 2011 at 12 noon. Interment in the Lasalle Cemetery. Prayers Friday at 3 p.m. Donations to Christ the King Building Fund would be appreciated.
