In loving memory of Peter William Suomu 71 years. Passed away on Thursday, September 14th, 2023 at Health Sciences North.
Cherished partner Kathleen Ryan predeceased August21st, 2023. Loving father of Trevor Suomu (Stacy), Jody Suomu (Jessica) of Surrey, BC, and Todd Suomuof Vancouver, BC. Adored Papa of Wyatt and Sadie Suomu of Surrey, BC, Tyler Suomu, and Courtney Halverson. Predeceased by his parents Helmer and Ellen Suomu (nee Niemi). Dear brother of Leonard (Mae) of Dryden, Lillian Clair (Wayne predeceased), and Ron predeceased (Lorna).
Peter loved the outdoors. He enjoyed his canoe trips in the summer and much like his mother, brush burning in the Spring and Fall, as well as cross-country skiing in the Winter. Peter always made time to listen to rock n roll and the blues. He enjoyed a drink with friends and particularly enjoyed his home brewed “Rosso Grande Eccellente” along with a smoke.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences North for their kind and compassionate treatment of our father.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 30th from 2-4pm at his house. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
