Tessier, Joyce

September 10, 2009 72

TESSIER, Joyce - 1937-2009 - Passed away at The Vale/INCO Hospice, Sudbury on Monday, September 7, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Francis Tessier. Much loved daughter of the late Katherine Winnicki, always the big sister to Jacqueline Bourne, caring aunt of David Bourne (Linda), Donna Parker (Jack) and Michael Bourne (Cindy), and great-aunt to Melissa and Brendan Low. She is also survived by Aunts Rose and Mary, Uncles John and Peter and many cousins. Special thanks to Shirley Sharpe, Nancy Tuominen and the Finlandia Village Staff for their support. Joyce spent most of her working life with the Canada Revenue Agency and many co-workers became lifelong friends. She loved dancing and learned line dancing while wintering, for several years after retirement, in Florida. She was able to continue, thanks to the Older Adult centre and the very competent and fun-loving line dance instructor. Joyce's canine companion, Skipper, was a joy and 'could do everything but talk'. Joyce enjoyed the many years volunteering at the St. Joseph's Health Centre and the friends she made. At Joyce's request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment of ashes at the Sudbury Civic Cemetery, 2nd Ave., Sudbury. Donations to the Sudbury Branch of the SPCA, The Heart and Stroke Fund or the Diabetes Assoc., would be appreciated. “Writing my own obituary has been interesting. Thank you dear family and friends for your friendship, love, support and prayers. I leave with these thoughts, taken from a couple of my favourite songs, “Don't let the good life pass you by“ and “When you get the choice to sit out or dance, I hope you dance.“ Arrangements entrusted to the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME.
