TURNER, Daniel

In loving memory of Daniel “Dan” Hartley Turner, 84 years. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Maison McCulloch Hospice on Saturday, October 10th, 2020.

Loving and devoted husband of 60 years to Nancy Turner (nee James). Beloved father of Robert (predeceased), Cheryl Turner (Campbell Delaney) and Lisa Hobourn (Richard). Cherished Grampa of Lindsay, Kevin, Tommy, Chelsea and Jeremy and great Grampa of Patricia and Jack. Much loved only son of Grace Secord predeceased.

Dan was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 11th, 1936 and married the love of his life Nancy on March 26th, 1960. He was proud to serve in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and became a highly active lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #76. Serving as Sergeant at Arms on color parties and Parade Marshal for many Remembrance Day parades. He was a devoted long-time member of Church of the Ascension. He enjoyed travelling and making many happy memories with his grandchildren who brought him great joy.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff and Dr. Walton at the Maison McCulloch Hospice for taking such good care of Dan and his family. Also, thank you to the nurses and PSWs with Bayshore and Care Partners for their care and compassion. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with a private graveside service at Civic Cemetery. Donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #76 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
