Born February 15, 1939 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, John David “Dave” Walker died at his Sudbury home on Thursday, June 2, 2022 surrounded by family. Predeceased by his parents, Augustus and Pauline, and his brothers-in-law Gordon, Jack and Ev. Dave is survived by his wife Sarah, sons David (Susan) and Stephen, grandchildren Nigel (Blair), Alyssa (Matthew) and Alex, great-grandchildren Kate and Kenza, his siblings Michael (Ellis) and Margot (Stefan), brother-in-law Frank II (Betty Ann), and sisters-in-law Myrtle, Shirley, and Belle. A devoted family man and admired educator, Dave lived an active life. He especially enjoyed swimming, music and the great outdoors. After retiring from Levack District High School, an institution he loved, he volunteered at the Sudbury Canoe Club, the local ALS and Memorial Societies, and the Continuing Care wing of St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
