In loving memory of Alessandro “Sandro” Zandri 88 years. It was on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 with broken hearts, we said goodbye to the strongest and most courageous person we know, Sandro. Beloved husband to Diana (nee Maestrello) of 62 years. Proud and loving father of Maria Kelly-Bohnet (David) and Carol Cecile (Lance). Predeceased by son-in-laws David Billard and Lawrence Kelly. Adored and loving Nonno to Jesse Cecile, Christopher Cecile (Alex), and Lorenzo Kelly (Mica). Loving son of Luigi and Maria Zandri (nee Santini) of Fano, Italy both predeceased. Dear brother of Gottardo Zandri (Louisa), Gina Berlutti (Primo), Stella Fabbri (Ferruccio), Mario Zandri (Rina), Eugenio “Gianni” Zandri (Bruna) and Elvezio Zandri (Ivana). Loving son-in-law of Emma and Angelo “Tony” Muzzin both predeceased and brother-in-law of Robert “Bob” Harrower and Cardena “Lena” Harrower (predeceased). Loving Zio to many nieces and nephews in Italy and in Canada. Sandro began his journey in life on September 10th, 1933 in Fano, Italy. At the age of 18, Sandro travelled to Canada and worked at a variety of jobs. Eventually he would “find his place” at INCO Copper Refinery for 30 plus years, retiring in 1991. He was a life member of the Caruso Club. In his healthier years, Sandro enjoyed spending afternoons at the Caruso Club playing cards or bocce with his friends. He also enjoyed long walks with our Mom and playing cards with her as well. He enjoyed travelling, gardening, wine making and most importantly spending time and celebrating with his family. Thank you for your guidance, your support and most of all, thank you for loving us. Special thanks to the nurses, and doctors on the 8th floor north tower at Health Sciences North for their continued care and support. A private family entombment has taken place in the Civic Mausoleum. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home. For donations or messages of condolence www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
