Body found inside burning home near Peterborough, Ont.: police

Police say a person has died in a house fire near Peterborough, Ont. 

Provincial police say flames broke out at a home in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township around 6 p.m., Monday.

They say the building was fully engulfed by the time officers and firefighters arrived.

Investigators say two occupants managed to get out of the home, but another person was found dead inside.

They say the office of the fire marshal is investigating.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and no details about the victim have been released.
