Mother charged in stabbing of four-year-old boy, six-month-old girl

Toronto police say a 36-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after her two children — a four-year-old boy and six-month-old girl — were found with stab wounds on Saturday.

They say police were called to a north-end apartment at about 10 a.m. and found the wounded children.

They were initially listed in life-threatening condition but police say their conditions have improved and they are expected to survive.

Police say their mother is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two of assault.

Her name isn't being released to protect the identities of the children.

The investigation is ongoing.
