Police say four people have been injured in an apparent hit-and-run on Toronto Metropolitan University's campus.

Police say the vehicle did not remain at the scene of the crash on the downtown campus's Nelson Mandela Walk.

In an update to social media, police say two of the injured were sent to hospital.

Police say the call came in at 1:54 p.m.

A safety alert posted by the university advised people to avoid the area.

The alert says there is no impact to classes or exams and that employees should continue to work as usual.
