London, Ont. police charge three 'Freedom Rally' organizers

LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., have charged three organizers of a weekend anti-lockdown rally.

The three women from the city were charged with violating provincial rules against large outdoor gatherings.

Police say organizers had ignored warnings of possible charges.

About 200 people took part in the "Freedom Rally" in the downtown core on Sunday to protest against COVID-19 restrictions.

The region is currently under measures that limit public events and gatherings not organized by businesses to 25 people outdoors.

Police say the event was shared on social media.
