Man, 60, charged in series of sexual assaults on a minor

ERIN, Ont. — A 60-year-old man is facing multiple charges in a series of alleged sexual assaults and other sex-related offences police say took place over seven years.

Ontario Provincial Police say the incidents occurred in Erin, Ont., and Centre Wellington, Ont.,  between 2007 and 2014.

They say the accused and the victim, who was a minor at the time, knew each other.

The accused is charged with sexual assault on a person under 16, invitation to sexual touching on a person under 16, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation.

He is also charged with administering a noxious thing, possession of child pornography, making explicit material available to a person under 14, and counselling suicide.

He is due in court on Sept. 29.
