Police investigating Friday evening hit-and-run in downtown Toronto

TORONTO — Police say they're investigating after a vehicle allegedly struck a woman in downtown Toronto. 

In a news release Saturday, police say they got a call about the collision around 7 p.m. Friday. 

They say a 36-year-old woman was crossing a street when she was struck.

They say the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

Police say the vehicle fled the scene after the collision. 

They're asking businesses and drivers with security or dashcam footage to contact them.
