NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. — A 23-year-old man has been charged in a hit-and-run that killed a woman in Niagara Falls, Ont., on Saturday night.

Niagara Regional Police say officers responded to a crash near Lundy's Lane and Beaverdams Road around 8:40 p.m.

They say a woman was transported from the scene to an out-of-town hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say there was no sign of the driver, but the vehicle involved, a 2013 black Mercedes, was later found.

They say a suspect was arrested on Sunday and was being held in custody pending a video bail hearing later that day.

The man faces charges including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death.
