Police search for teen last seen jumping from bridge into Ottawa River

OTTAWA — Police say they'll resume a search today for a teenaged boy who was last seen Friday evening jumping off a bridge into the Ottawa River.

Ottawa police say the 14-year-old boy was with a group of youths gathered at the Prince of Wales Bridge.

Police say the marine, dive and trails responded to a call about 9:20 p.m.

A criminal investigations unit will also seek to determine what happened.

A search by various police and fire units from Ottawa and Gatineau didn't locate the teen in the water or along the shore.

Police say counsellors are assisting the teen's family and friends.
