Public health authorities say a salmonella outbreak linked to a southwestern Ontario restaurant and food truck has grown to 41 confirmed cases.
Lambton County's public health unit also says nine people have been hospitalized due to the outbreak.
The health unit had reported last Thursday that 33 people were confirmed to have salmonella infections connected to the outbreak.
Affected individuals ate at the Barakat restaurant in Sarnia, Ont., and the Barakat food truck in Corunna, Ont., between Oct. 19 and Oct. 29.
In addition to the laboratory confirmed cases, the health unit says more than 180 other people have reported salmonella infection symptoms after eating at the two establishments.
Dr. Sudit Ranade, the health unit's medical officer of health, has said the owners voluntarily closed the restaurant and are co-operating with the public health investigation.
