Teen girl charged with murder in fatal shooting of 16-year-old boy in Toronto

Toronto police say a 15-year-old girl has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of another teen.

Police say the shooting took place in the city's northeast around 6 p.m. on July 3.

They say officers found a 16-year-old boy with serious injuries and rushed him to hospital, where he died.

Police say the suspect was arrested and charged Wednesday.

She was due to appear in court Thursday.

The girl cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
