THUNDER BAY, Ont. — Police in Thunder Bay, Ont., say they've arrested 13 people in connection with an alleged fraudulent cheque scheme in the city.
City police say they began investigating in January after receiving reports about a series of allegedly forged cheques.
They say the cheques were made to look like they came from Dilico Anishinabek Family Care and totalled about $70,000.
Police say a 58-year-old woman and three 17-year-old boys are among the suspects they have arrested.
The charges they face include using a forged document and various fraud-related offences.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be laid in the weeks ahead.
