Toronto teacher accused of sexually assaulting 17-year-old girl

TORONTO — A 45-year-old Toronto teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

Police say the man and the girl spoke in-person and over the phone between January and June.

They allege the sexual assault took place at some point during that six-month period.

The man, identified as Colin Ramsay, is facing two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual exploitation and luring a child.

They say Ramsay has been a teacher at George Vanier Secondary School since 2007.

Investigators say there may be other victims.

Ramsay is scheduled to appear in court on September 17, 2020.
