Two people in their 60s dead after fire at Peterborough, Ont., home

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — A man and a woman in their 60s have died after a weekend house fire in Peterborough, Ont.

A news release from Peterborough Police Service says officers and fire services attended the home on Gillespie Avenue early Saturday morning.

Officials say a 69-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man are dead.

Police are working with fire services and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the cause of the blaze. 

The area was closed for most of Saturday for the investigation, but has since been re-opened.
