Greater Sudbury Police have issued 158 speeding tickets over the past few days to lead-footed motorists in the construction zone on Municipal Road 80.
Police said in a Sept. 13 press release that they'd received several complaints about speeding vehicles the area.
“Greater Sudbury Police would like to remind the public to slow down and drive with caution in and around all construction zones,” said the press release.
“Even minor increases in speed can have devastating results in the event of collision. Speeding is dangerous and costly. In order to keep our roads safe, please observe the lower speed limit and watch for highway workers. Ontario laws double speeding fines in construction zones when workers are present.”
