An 82-year-old man died en route to the hospital due to injuries from a car crash in Capreol Sunday morning.
Greater Sudbury Police said they responded to a call at around 11:05 a.m. and found the man near West Bay Road, in Capreol, where his vehicle veered off the road and into Lake Wanapitei.
Police said they found the man in the lake, near the road, and performed CPR on him after bringing him to shore.
The man was airlifted to Health Sciences North but succumbed to his injuries, said police.
Police are investigating the incident and said the man’s name will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.
