Afternoon collision turns into a licence suspension for St. Charles man

On March 9, at around 12:50 p.m., members of the Sudbury OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Wahnapitae. 

While speaking to the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision, police observed that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the investigation a 67-year-old man from St. Charles was arrested and charged with:

  • Care or Control while Ability Impaired
  • Care or Control Over 80 mgs
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused was issued a 90 day automatic drivers licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. He was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on April 18.
