Ajax man charged with impaired after single-vehicle crash in Burwash area

A 49-year-old man from Ajax faces impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash on Trout Lake Road in Burwash Township, said provincial police.

Officers responded to the call on Jan. 19 at 3:39 p.m. At the scene, while speaking to the driver, officers determined he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and taken to Greater Sudbury Police Service headquarters for further testing.

In addition to the impaired driving charge, he faces a charge of driving while under suspension.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 24 in Sudbury.

His licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
