An alleged drunk driver hit a pole and ditched his truck after passing another vehicle on Highway 144 at Marina Road in Onaping Falls on Nov. 4, said the Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash around 8:10 p.m. The 40-year-old driver had attempted to pass another vehicle, but lost control on a curve, hit a pole and ended up in the ditch, said police. He suffered minor injuries.

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Dec. 9 in Sudbury.
