A province-wide amber alert has been cancelled, as five-year-old Jannah Jaffri has been located and is safe.

Jaffri's father, Solomon Jaffri has been arrested.

Original story:

York Regional Police have issued a province-wide amber alert in hopes of locating a missing five-year-old girl.

Jannah Jaffri is described as four feet tall, with light brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink sweater, white tank top, grey leggings, a navy blue coat and a sparkly white unicorn backpack. She was last seen at Armadale Public School in Markham.

The suspect in the abduction is her father, Solomon Jaffri. He's described as 6-foot-1, average build and short brown hair. He has a tattoo of Jannah on his arm and was last seen wearing a navy blue coat and black cargo pants. Solomon and Jannah were last seen getting into a taxi.

If anyone sees them, they are asked to call 911.
