The OPP arrested an American who was allegedly driving drunk on Highway 69 near Sudbury on Monday night.
Greater Sudbury Police said at around 9:50 p.m. May 5, the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver travelling north on Highway 69, south of Sudbury.
The vehicle was located, and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old man from Chicago, IL, was charged with, operation while impaired - alcohol and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice July 9 in Sudbury.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
