Ancaster man faces charges after French River boating stop

The Noelville OPP detachment recently caught a man out for a Sunday morning drunken boat cruise.

At 11 a.m. on July 23, officers received a tip about a vessel "being operated erratically" on the French River, in the Municipality of French River.

Officers responded and quickly located the craft. The driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, police report.

As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old man from Ancaster faces a charge of operating a vessel while ability impaired by alcohol and a charge of operating a vessel with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood. 

The man is to appear in a Sudbury courtroom on Aug. 23 to answer to the charges.
