April 5 was a double day for stunt drivers, OPP says

Local OPP charged two people for stunt driving on April 5.

That morning at 10:50 a.m., police say radar caught a 35-year-old Sudburian doing 165 km/h on Highway 69 in Cox Township.

The driver was issued a seven-day driver's licence suspension and vehicle impoundment for the same period of time.

The accused was released on provincial summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 1 in the City of Greater Sudbury.

Then, that evening, the OPP reported stopping a driver in the town limits of Sturgeon Falls driving at 108 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The 24-year-old Sudburian was pulled over on Front Street at around 9:20 p.m.

The driver was issued a seven-day driver's licence suspension and vehicle impounded for the same period.

The accused was released on provincial summons and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 10 in West Nipissing.
