Attempted murder charge laid in Bruce Ave. stabbing

Greater Sudbury Police made an arrest this morning in relation to a stabbing that took place on Bruce Avenue in the Flour Mill on March 25.

At 11 a.m. this morning, police arrested a 32-year-old man without incident in the downtown core. Police have not released the name of the accused, who is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing April 12.

The man faces charges of attempted murder, weapons dangerous and one count of breaching probation. At the time of his arrest, it turns out the 32-year-old had outstanding warrants on him, including two counts of breaching probation and one count of breaching a recognizance.

If you’ll recall, the March stabbing sent a 32-year-old man to hospital with critical injuries and resulted in a hunt for a grey 2016 Ford Expedition. The vehicle was located the next day.

GSPS extended its appreciation to the public for providing information that assisted in the investigation.
