Highway 17 was reopened in the area as of around 6:20 p.m. Monday evening, according to a tweet from the OPP.

Update:

Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police responded Monday to the report of a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 17 near Highway 630 in Calvin Township.

"Preliminary information is that an eastbound SUV collided with a westbound pickup truck," the OPP said in a release. "The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the pickup truck sustained no injuries."

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are on the scene assisting with the investigation along with the OPP Unmanned Aerial System.   

The OPP currently have Highway 17 completely closed and will advise once the roadway is reopened.
