BB gun used to allegedly threaten Dowling man

An 18-year-old man faces weapons-related charges after pointing a hand gun at a Dowling resident on Aug. 25, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The gun turned out to be a BB gun, but the suspect is still charged with threatening, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous after he got into a dispute with a 43-year-old Dowling man at his home shortly before midnight.

The suspect pulled out the gun, and allegedly told the resident he was going to take care of him. Both men are known to each other.

The suspect left in a vehicle, and police were called. The suspect drove past a police cruiser and was identified. Officers followed the suspect at a distance, waiting for other units to arrive. The suspect pulled into a residence on Highway 144 in Chelmsford.

An arrest was made in the driveway about 30 minutes after the original incident. The handgun was located in the vehicle and it was identified as a BB gun air pistol.
