Blind River man faces numerous weapons charges after Sudbury traffic stop

A Blind River man faces numerous weapons-related charges following a traffic stop in Sudbury on Nov. 30, OPP report.

Officers arrested the 24-year-old after it was determined he was in possession of a prohibited weapon with prohibited ammunition and drugs suspected to be cocaine and fentanyl, valued at about $31,000.

He is charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine; possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid; unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm; possession of a prohibited device or ammunition; two counts of transporting firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner; occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm; possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; and possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

He was held in custody for bail court on Dec. 1 and remanded back into custody, returning to the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Dec. 10.
