A firearm believed to be associated to this incident has been recovered by Police. It was found discarded in the area where the unoccupied Kia Spectra was located.

Police have reported they have reason to believe more than one suspect was involved in the shooting.
The criminal investigation division is leading the investigation and is canvassing witnesses to confirm the suspects' descriptions.

Greater Sudbury Police are on the lookout for a vehicle they believe was used by the suspect in a shooting this morning in Wahnapitae.
The vehicle believed to be involved is a four-door, silver Kia Spectra, no licence plate number was released. The vehicle was recovered by police on The Kingsway, east of Falconbridge Road. The suspect is still at large and the investigation is ongoing.
Police say the victim in this situation is an adult male, who sustained serious injuries, but is in stable condition.

Greater Sudbury Police are on the scene of a shooting on Mountainview Street in Wahnapitae this morning.
Staff Sgt. Marc Brunette said police were called to the scene just before 7 a.m. Aug. 12.
He said the shooting victim is an adult male.
“The person's alive,” Brunette said. “I don't have the status yet, as to his condition.”
The suspect, who police describe as armed, remains at large. Police have not provided a description of the suspect.
“We have a heavy police presence there both in Wahnipitae and that area,” Brunette said.
“Both patrol operations and tactical officers are working on the file. We're looking for the suspect. We have not found him or her — we don't know who it is yet.”
Mountain View Street is closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic until further notice. Police warn the public not to approach individuals who you believe may be a suspect.
