Highway 144 was reopened in both directions as of late Wednesday morning, the OPP report.

The OPP are still investigating the cause of the collision and will provide further details when they become available.

Highway 144 remains closed at this hour after a head-on crash between a transport truck and a pickup truck early Wednesday morning.

The OPP report that the collision occurred at 3:55 a.m. Aug. 10 on Highway 144, in between Lively and Chelmsford.

The driver of the transport truck received minor injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck was transported by Sudbury Paramedic Services to the local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was still closed in both directions as of 9 a.m. to allow for crews to remove the vehicles and clean the debris off the highway.

The OPP are still investigating the cause of the collision and will provide further details when they become available.

Highway 144 is closed between Highway 17 and Chelmsford due to a collision, according to a tweet from the OPP.

Both the OPP and the MTO first reported the crash at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The MTO reported that the closure was still active as of 6 a.m.
