Updated: Cyclist receives serious injuries in early-morning Regent St. collision

Police asking anyone with information about incident to contact them

The cyclist was transported to hospital and is being treated for serious but non life-threatening injuries, according to a tweet from Greater Sudbury Police at 9:25 a.m.

Police said earlier this morning they were still on scene investigating, and the roadway would be open shortly.

There's been a collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of Regent and Austin streets in the city's South End, Greater Sudbury Police said in a tweet just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The extent of injuries is unknown.

"Motorists may experience delays in the area," said a press release. "Please slow down and make room for emergency responders."
