Updated: Kingsway intersection now fully re-opened

Flipped tanker truck carrying water has been removed from the intersection

Updated at 2:19 p.m.: The intersection of The Kingsway and Second Avenue/Falconbridge Road is now fully re-opened.

Traffic was flowing slowly through the intersection for several hours while police investigated this morning's crash and crews cleaned up and got the tanker out of the intersection.

The intersection is now fully re-opened, GSPS reported on Twitter, and traffic is flowing normally again.

Updated at 11:31 a.m.: While Greater Sudbury Police initially believed it would take about 30 minutes to clean up following this morning's crash involving a tanker truck hauling water, it seems that isn't the case.

GSPS tweeted a few minutes ago that they have been advised the clean-up is going to take longer than expected — an hour or two longer than expected.

Traffic is still moving through the intersection of The Kingsway and Second Avenue/Falconbridge Road, but it is moving slowing. Expect delays.

Police are on the scene directing traffic.
