The Sudbury OPP detachment is still investigating after a car collided head-on with a school bus on Highway 144 in Chelmsford on Monday.

Fortunately, there were no children in the bus at the time of the crash.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m., OPP said, and saw the OPP, Greater Sudbury Fire Service, paramedics and officers with Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) respond.

Police determined the northbound car drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with a southbound school bus. The driver of the car was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The collision is still under investigation, the OPP said.

Since Nov. 1, the Sudbury OPP detachment has investigated 45 collisions, prompting police to remind drivers about driving according to the conditions.
