A 36-year-old Sudburian has been charged with careless driving following a May 22 single motor-vehicle crash on Highway 69 in Burwash Township.

Provincial police said members of the Nipissing West (Sudbury) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Estaire Fire Department and Sudbury Paramedic Service, responded to the crash at 10:55 a.m.

There were no injuries to the driver.

As a result of the investigation, the driver is charged with careless driving, driving with no licence and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

The driver was released by way of Provincial Summons and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 21 in Sudbury.

“The OPP would like to remind motorists that seatbelts save lives. It only takes a few seconds to buckle up. A properly worn seat belt greatly increases your chances of surviving a motor vehicle collision.”
