Upon arrival, the residence was found burned to the ground and the fire to be suspicious.

Later on the same date at 10:35 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police with the assistance of the Gore Bay and Billings Township Fire Departments responded to a second structure fire on Nelson Road in Gordon Township.

Another residence had been burned to the ground with similar circumstances.
