A 19-year-old woman was injured around noon Sunday when her bicycle collided with a car on Notre Dame Avenue in Sudbury near the Food Basics grocery store.

Greater Sudbury Police Staff Sgt. John McCormick said the woman's injuries are not life-threatening and she was expected to be treated and released from Health Sciences North.

“Charges are possible,” McCormick said, cautioning that it's still early in the investigation.

At this point, it appears as though only one vehicle was involved in the incident. A witness on the scene said the victim was sitting up and appeared conscious while being attended to by emergency medical personnel.
