A bear was shot and killed in a residential by unknown persons, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.
Officers were called to the Montrose area after someone found a dead bear in their backyard, said a press release.
It was determined the bear had been shot at an unknown location, and made its way to the backyard, where it died of its injuries.
The bear was removed from the backyard and transported from the location by the City of Greater Sudbury.
“The public is reminded that discharging a firearm within the city limits is contrary to the city bylaw, but is also criminal in nature and may result in charges,” said the news release.
